REC-Tax Saving Infrastructure Bonds 2011-12:

Rural Electrification Corporation(REC) , a Navratna PSU company under ministry of power has come up with a issue of tax saving infrastructure bonds.Details of this issue are as follow:

  • Issue Open date: Dec 19,2011.
  • Issue Close date:Feb 10,2012.
  • Interest rates for different tenor are as follow:

  •  Security:Bonds are unsecured But this is not a great thing considering company financials.
  • Listing:Bonds will be listed both on BSE and NSE.Trading is possible only after completion of lock in period.
  • Issue registrar:Beetal Financial services.
  • Tax Benefit:This issue carries tax benefit U/S 80-CCF max upto investment of Rs.20,000/-.

    Though the interest rate is slightly lower than IDFC/IFCI but it seems those who missed earlier, REC is the only choice as of now.

    Thanks for the information on REC….I recently visited the blog http://www.infrastructurebond.in, which also has mentioned another tax saving investment avenue by the way IFCI Infrastructure Bonds (Series IV).
